What is an authorized interpreter?
An authorized interpreter has passed Kammarkollegiet’s authorization exam – a government exam that tests language proficiency, interpreting technique, terminology, and professional ethics. The authorization is an independent mark of quality, and the interpreter is subject to Kammarkollegiet’s supervision as well as confidentiality obligations and professional interpreting standards. Some authorized interpreters also have specialist expertise as legal interpreters or healthcare interpreters.
